Transforming lives through education in Arusha, Tanzania.
Building a new home for the Brainy Heroes Secondary School in Arusha, Tanzania.

What We Hope to Do and Why
We are raising funds to build new premises for the Brainy Heroes Secondary School in Arusha, Tanzania. It is a boarding school, currently operating from rented premises and was first registered in 2016 with 14 students. It now has 220 students and is ranked 5th in the region in terms of academic success. Their problem though, is that the building owner will not repair or maintain the current facility and the premises are no longer fit for purpose. The school is at risk of being closed down. To help them grow and continue their great educational outcomes for many years to come we want to raise funds to build a school.

Our Story
Joanne has volunteered at a hospital, then the school in Arusha for a number of years. Colin has also made two trips there. We have sponsored a number of students but having now worked alongside the dedicated school founders and staff and seen their success, we now want to do more.
We have the greatest respect and admiration for the three directors who founded the school - Jacob, Lazaro, and Yaledi and for what they have been able to achieve. The school is a "happy place", full of laughter & smiles. The staff are also committed and not only educate the students but mentor and nurture them as well. Many of the students are growing up in disadvantaged domestic circumstances and the school can be a refuge for them.

Our Values
Respect: We respect Tanzania, its culture, and the people that we are working with. All decisions are made with consideration for, consultation with and respect for the community, the school founders and the students as the ultimate beneficiaries.

Integrity: We are doing what we do with love and admiration. We will work hard and are committed to achieve our goal.
